Monday May 30th Memorial Day is the day that Misty left us. AKC CH. / UKC Gr. Ch. Neahm’s Mist O’ Morn at Alainn, I still remember the day that Misty joined us. it was back in November of 2005 you were the biggest one in the litter and so demanding. When you were little and I would let you outside you would spin around and “announce your presence with authority”!!!. That next spring Debbie seen you and she was instantly in love!!! When she was only 7 months old at what must have been her first dog show she was awarded by Judge Janet Turnage Nahikian, winners bitch and best of winners for her first 2 points!!! Debbie and I had a lot of fun showing her and in less than 2 years Misty finished her Championship with 3 three point majors in 2 months!! .
Debbie and Misty then settled into home life hehehe and Misty kept pushing her buttons!! We bred Misty to our favorite stud dog Ch. Ilemist As You Like It “Oliver” and they created a beautiful boy who I really thought might end up to big. We named him “Hamlet” Neahm’s To Be Or Not To Be, yea he was either going to BE a show dog or NOT. Hamlet completed his championship fairly quickly and is now living the life of “Riley” he is a reading therapy dog. He lays in the middle of a group of children, gets fed treats and petted while they listen to books read to them.
After Hamlet’s success Debbie wanted to try again with Misty and Oliver. Misty kept running the house hold and bossing around Debbie’s other dogs. The breeding between Misty and Oliver or Ollie as he was affectionately known created her Molly (Misty + OLLIE who still lives with Debbie. Debbie named her Alainn Uptown Girl, after the Billy Joel song. Later she decided to breed Molly to Debbie Tresnak’s pretty boy “Benny” Ch. Trelynns By The Book. That breeding who is Misty’s Grandson was named “Bastian” Alainn Neverending Story of Neahm, Bastian went on to win the 6-9 month old sable class at the 2014 ASSA National!!
So while Misty may have left us to play with our other dogs on the glens and dales across the bridge she has left is several of her offspring to remind us how special she was!!! Until we all meet again across the Rainbow Bridge!!
